When you are trying to lose weight, it’s easy to focus solely on the number reading from your bathroom scale. You’re working hard, eating better foods, exercising regularly, and it’s understandable to want to see results of that work. If weight loss is your sole measure of success and it doesn’t immediately drop, you may develop feelings of disappointment or defeat.
As you monitor your progress with a new diet or exercise plan, keep in mind that there are other ways to measure success that don’t have anything to do with the scale. Celebrating these “non-scale victories” helps keep your weight loss and fitness journey in perspective.
